FarmHand Software was written out of a desire to help farmers flourish not just exist in today’s market. This is our first effort to combine most or all the functions that are faced on the farm on a daily basis. We went to both produce and livestock farmers to see what they actually needed. But, we do realize that different farmers have different needs. That is why this is an open system and what we mean by that is if we receive enough requests for the same type addition or change to FarmHand we will make that modification.
FarmHand is divided into five areas; they are General, Finance, Customers, Produce and Livestock.
In the General section you can enter:
- Your farm information
- Compare scheduled & actual pickups
- Set products up
- Vegetables
- Meat
- Milk
- Honey
- Eggs
- Canned Goods
- Crafts
- Anything you desire
- Miscellaneous info
- General farm maintenance
- Print general farm reports
The Finance area is where all financial transactions are recorded.

- With price by weight calculation

- Chart of accounts
- Farmers market totals
- Checkbook reconciliation
- Print all financial reports
You have the ability to enter all of your transactions broken down by product and area with quantities for bulk items such as feed, hay, soil, manure or whatever you buy in bulk. This gives you the ability to calculate expenses by product or by area or field. If you choose you can transfer all of your expenses and receipts to Intuits’ QuickBooks in the financial section or use the built in check reconciliation.
In the Communication tab you can:
- Write letters
- Post cards
- Email (Being completed currently)
- Can be done in mass
- Inexpensive 4x6 cards
- Select from 11 different categories

All communication can be saved for later use.
The Customer section incorporates:
- Customer master
- Share setup with pickup dates
- Share setup with unit pricing
- Actual pickups
- Compare planned to actual pickups
- All customer reporting
In this section there is a full customer list on the left of the screen so you have access to any customer at any time. There is an interactive calendar to show how many pickups are scheduled for a certain day.
